JD babies!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Babies are doing great! Eating brine shrimp and micro pellets. Some of them are starting to get kinda big already. I don't have as many as when I started off, but I figure that's because some of the smaller ones didn't make it. The parents are still very protective and great with the babies. I'll try to upload a picture soon. My camera currently isn't working.

Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job with those babies!

If I ever make it to that stage I know who I'm turning to for questions :)

Haha...thanks for that vote of confidence!!! It's actually my first time raising babies, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I think I ended up with a great set of parents though! And it helps that two of my closest friends are fish nuts too, lol. :-)

...now how do I delete that accidental post above??? Hmm...

Could you put up some pics of the transitions?

Really curious!

Keep up the good work your doing though!

Congrats!! i want to breed fish. this is awesome news. I am attempting to breed angels but as of now i am thinking i have a false breeding pair :P. But JDs that is amazing, what kind of set up are you running?

Ha Ha...we are not Nuts. It's kind of funny to see my old fish on the internet. Though I don't think they would have breed here in an over crowded tank.

Here's a picture of the babies...I don't have as many as I used to, but there's probably still around a hundred of them, maybe a little bit less. Some of the smaller ones got eaten. I actually saw one of the bigger babies with a smaller one in it's mouth! It was a little weird to see, lol. Sorry for the crappy quality, my camera is currently dead so I used my phone. But the babies are progressing well. I'll keep updating with more pictures as they get bigger. :)

Thanks!! Right now the parents and the babies are in a 55 gallon tank by themselves. I originally had in all the gravel and rocks and plants, but because some of the babies were getting stuck, and because the tank had to get cleaned, I took all that out. Just a HOB filter right now (can't afford a canister at the moment!) and an air stone. Everybody seems to be doing well. Babies are growing at a pretty fast rate. Good luck with your angels!
