Like mentioned already, it's your tank so feel free to do as you like. But feeding feeders isn't really going to make your fish grow any faster than it would on just NLS or some other quality pellet. (Search some of the olds threads that detail just how much nourishment a rosie really provides for a cichlid.) A fish is only going to be able to assimilate so much food. A little bit of good food is a lot better than a lot of bad food. What ever isn't absorbed by the fish will just be quickly passed as waste that will only lead to unnecessary water issues. The fact that you don't see a Rosie swimming erratically or showing any signs of sickness doesn't mean that it isn't carrying any disease. It only takes one bad one to upset the ecology of your tank. There are better live foods to use that will give you the opportunity to witness the hunting techniques of your fish without too much of a risk. Worms, Ghost Shrimp, and crickets are good live foods. They can be kept on a good diet before being offered to your fish. You could also raise your own feeders as an occasional treat. That would minimize the risk of parasites. I learned first hand the price of feeding rosies to my fish. I took risk that eventually led to the untimely death of some very nice cichlids. So I'm not preaching, just trying to help you avoid some problems down the road. In any case, good luck!Agliata45;5078325;5078325 said:im always careful about that, if theres one fish in the feeder tank that looks wrong then i wont get them. and i heard that feeding live fish is good for growth? is that not true? and also there 20 for a dollar and they last about a day but they're full so i dont have to feed them for another day. plus i like seeing them "hunt" the fish its kind of amusing lol
