But males can have some coloration on the face right?? Just to clarify... males have a few "dots" of colour on the face and females longer spangles.

Oh yes Just not Blotchy in 99.9% Usually males will have more circles instead of Blotches shown on most females

does anyone have a pick of what a similar size male will look like and would it be better to get a smaller male or does it matter

Yup Now this guy is a blue gene male 3" SL (head to Tail) But you can look at the face and gill plates for cross refference

ya i can deffinatly tell the difference. the males appear to have alot more blue on the back half of the body compared to the females. Thanks for the pic thats exactly what i am looking for. Tongue33 are you breeding your jd?
