JD or Green Terror in a 55?

I've got a relatively big JD and a Jaguar that's even bigger in a 55 and they get along. I have a couple of stragglers in there as well and they aren't thrashed or anything so I think your best bet would be to go for a pair of JD's

thats alot of fish for a small tank. its not so much if they get along but haveing the CORRECT amount of space for the fish to live. IMO 55 is way to small for a jag let alone a jag and a dempsey.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've actually been trying to get rid of all of my cichlids to turn it into a community tank but everyone gets along so well and I have plenty of PVC joints for them to hide that it's almost like it's already a community tank. I still want to get rid of them though...not for me but I'm going to give my folks that tank and they want things like gouramies and swordtails

Thanks for the input guys, I went ahead and picked up a single juvie JD from my LFS (Skiptons in Boston, awesome shop), I'm QTing him now.

I'm just going to go with the one JD in the 55, maybe with a BN pleco if the Dempsey play's nice. Do you think that the JD will be fine with anubias attached to driftwood? They're only a no-no for plants because of digging right?

I have a quarter sized electric blue jack dempsey and from my experience any plants with an adult will be dest5royed, my baby eats my amazon swords, hasn't dug anything up yet but he is in a 25g cube with small fish that so far he gets a long with, I have heard there are differences between normal jds and ebjds but i haven't seen any proof, if you pot your plants you can have them in there with them if you dont mind them getting eaten a bit, just get fast growers and thick plants like the larger anubias and swords
