Over the past few days my JD has been acting wierd. He's currently in a tank with a GT who is just a little bigger than he is. Occasionally the GT will chase the demspey around and so on but it has been like that. Over the last couple days I've seen the Dempsey almost hiding behind the HOB filter.
What's goin on??

Im in the exact same situation, My JD is getting owned as well. I tried to put a school of 3 tigerbarbs in the tank to see if that would lower the aggro against the JD, but the next day when I came home from school, All three tiger barbs had no fins and were belly up...so i wouldnt recommend t-barbs lol. I'm gonna try some giant danios so i will let you know how that ends up.

Saw the JD nail one and shake its head like a dog when it kills something....NASTY little fish they can be!!!

Started with a school of 8 and then there were 7, then 6, then 5 etc. you get the idea

How big are the GT and JD? If the JD's a lot smaller you should try to bulk him up by feeding him earthworms! They're like Creatine for fish.... TONS of protein!

Feed regularly then get him/her to eat a worm at least once a day. Worked for me, now mine's trained to take it from my fingers. Gets all excited when he sees me with the little white container. VERY COOL!

my little brothers texas is the biggest fish in the tank and it is always hiding behind the filter. maybe add some dithers, but if you just give it some time it will probably come out of hiding. good luck!!!!

Well so far I re-arranged the decor and changed the lighting a little bit with not much of a difference so far. My LFS always has tons of Giant Danios so I might grab a few of them.
The GT is about 4.5" and the JD is about 3". He definitely does not grow as fast as the Terror.
As for the earth worms I'll def do that. I fed my largemouth Sandworms for the first 4 months I owned him and he gained almost a foot!
If none of this works I'll just have to put my Dempsey in the Jag tank and put the Jag in with the Terror to set him straight for a little:grinno:

Australlian Rainbows are similar to Dainos and prettier IMO..

I have been wondering if I could put Boeseman's Rainbows in my 90 with a GT and JD...That'll work huh?

It may work, but if not then it will be a pretty expensive experiment gone wrong.

Yeah you're right. No hurry, I'll see what kinda deals I can find.

Found a new LFS the other day that specializes in cichlids so I'm gona check it out this wknd. I know rainbows aren't cichlids but maybe they'll have something
