JD stiff

This morning i woke up and my JD was stiff it could only move around using its side fins (dont know what there called) and he cant move his body behind his head. What is causing this will it fix its self or do i have to treat if with something

what are your tank size and water parameters?

its in a 55 and its lik 2 inches long and i dont know the water parameters

how are the ammonia, nitrities, and nitrates in the tank?

I dont have a test kit at home but everyonce in a while I take a sample to petsmart and they test it for me. I got it tested last weekend and they said it was fine but I dont know the exact results.

Sounds like nitrate poisoning to me. Or a rock could have fell on him?

No. Not automatically, they could get it, but something has to be first right? Can you imagine looking at your tank with everyone fine one minute and then the next they all at the same time go stiff and look deathly?

Water changes. And I would add some salt. This is all speculation though because we do not know the test results. You NEED a test kit.
