JD tankmate inquiry

Actually gt's get larger than jd's... A mature male gt will be 10-12" while a jd will barely be pushing 10" I havent seen too many jd's over 10".. there is a member on her with a 14"+ gt.... A jd will be good in a 55 for a while a gt will need a 75 .....

thanks, good to know, def thought it was the other way around but guess i learned something new today

to OP then yeah JD should be fine in the 55g but couldnt really add other cichlids, except for maybe a convict like already stated, you could do a couple of silver dollars or maybe some higher bodied tetras or something (though they will probably eventually be a snack)

thanks for all the replies. definitely gonna focus on the JD at the moment, hard to resist owning every type of cichlid out there ! lol

gonna try and get a pic up within the next day or two of my JD see if anyone can help me out on determining "it's" sex lol. Im leaning towards female as it seems that most if his/her color is near the gills more so than the rest of the body.
