JD v.s. Pleco

so, i got my common pleco on saturday, just now my JD started chasing him around and well the pleco outswims him easily. but should i be worried that i'll wake up with no pleco?

How big is the Pleco and JD?

JD around 3 inches and the pleco around 2 or 2.5

They'll figure out the pecking order. Worst case, you lose a 5$ pleco.

yeah but if the JD tries to eat it couldn't the spines get stuck in his mouth and kill him too? the pleco is still pretty small but im 90% sure he couldnt fit it in his mouth

A pleco can be pretty tough, they have an exoskeleton so they are basically armor plated

It's probably not a feeding thing, it's a dominance or boredom thing. I don't thing he'd actually eat it, unless he's not getting enough food from you.

i feed him fine, i didn't think he would eat him either. It's probably a dominance thing. and yeah the pleco is pretty much bulletproof compared to the JD

i'm just wondering when this chase is going to end, they have a lot more stamina then i thought..
