no, cories can't defend themselves much, either way might get eaten, which will end up bad for the JD too

Exactly, it's not just the corys you have to worry about, they have spikes that will injure and possibly kill the JD if he tries to eat 1 (which I'm pretty sure he will).

It would be a female baby JD, 4 Striped raphaels. Black gravel, some rocks and a single plant.
