I almost got the same combo to work once except that my Jd was a male and must have been sterile. Every three weeks or so they went through all the motions, laid the eggs etc.... but the eggs never came through. I still believe it can work though, so I'm rooting for you. Be careful too, you may be in dangerous territory with the male being a Dovii. My female Dovii was around 6-7 inches when she started mating with my 11 inch Dovii and some of their courtship left the Dempseys face kind of torn up. I can only imagine what a male would do to an under matched female Jd. I would definitely make sure you get the male much smaller than your Jd to start with. Good luck other than that.
