JD's colors

If i remember correctly mine started to really color up around 4" or so. BUt when they get 6"+ is when they really start to shine.

I'd say around 5"+ Feed it krill and Hikari Bio-Gold
 
THe secret to making my juvie jd's look cool is black gravel and dim lights.I do not like the look of juvie jds in lighter gravel and bright lights. try this and you will be happy with the results works every time.Gergleb's your jd looks really nice.

Here is mine, he is probably 2" long in the first pic, and 6 inches long in the last, still growing! I think a good diet and minimal stress make for the best colors.

Yeah mine is not that colorful yet but I have a light natural gravel in there and going to but a black background so his colors will come out alittle more hes only about 3" as of now.
 
Mine started coloring up nicely around 3+ inches.

I agree that they look better over darker gravel. Light colored gravel definitely washes them out.
 
heres mine at about 4"ish. hes finally starting to get the pearling on his whole body. sometimes he looks completely black though. cant wait for this guy to be double in size like gergleb's!!
