JDs in a 29g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say that ONE JD "should" be OK in a 29g until May, but you are moving him, then moving him again and there will be water quality differences twice in a short time.

I had a problem with an Oscar and a JD in a 55g - the JD picked on the Oscar constantly when they got to be about 5".

Look at the JD fish profile and figure out what size tank for a breeding pair. No shame in a Petsmart fish as my JD and Oscar came from there and were both unusually beautiful when they grew some.

Just Saying...My Bro in law has grown a male jack from a baby to 8" in a 29G bowfront with an electric blue Hap and sailfin pleco. His fish are nice and his jack is almost at hott as mine...almost.
