I was thinking of getting a BGJD female for my EBJD but I wanted to make sure my tank would do for the load. Wider footprint on it because it's a breeder and I'm pretty obssesive on water changes. 2-3 a week. What do you guys think?

:) that is cool what you can do

I think you would be fine with good filtration and heavy water changes.

hi there I have just purchased a blue jack dempsey today but would like to know a bit more info on them, can you help me?

yeah sure, just basic info.

they are a medium-large growing cichlid, i have seen adult blues anywhere from 8-12", should be kept in a minimum of 55 gallons of water as adults, though depending on footprint of the tank you could go a bit smaller, feed them every 1-2 days, feed them pellets, they are not very aggresive as there name sort of makes you think., sutable tank mates include most other large peaceful cichlids, anything else?

um i am pretty sure u havent seen one that big! the most the ever get to is usually 8" and that is really pushing it! usually only 5 or so inches! regular jds can get a foot long!

where are you getting a BGJD? i want one!

i most definetly have, and i'm getting a pic hold on.

well so much for proveing wrong with evidence, the pic was deleted, but take my word i have. were talking blue jd's, the regular kind, not any other type you may be thinking of, though he may have been talking of eletric blues, which i haven't seen any that big, though, those have been said to get that large, though take a long time to grow out to, and are picky of water params

I attempted to put mine in with my uaru, parrot fish and serpa tetras. Big
MISTAKE with the tetras he is now in a tank on his own
