Well a few hours after a water change and with the absence of domineering oscars (gave away to a friend) my dempseys have decided to lay some eggs..

I suspected they were a pair given their behaviour regardless of the fact they were sold as two males. Basically what I want to know is what do I need to do to give these potential little guys the best chance at life.

Is there a guide to any of this?

Sorry this is my first time with eggs and sort of stressing, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

How long till they hatch?

Bout 3-4 days.Water temp plays a big part.Warmer water=faster hatch time(I wouldn't keep it warmer than 82)

ya like said just sit back, relax and enjoy your fish and their breeding behaviors. there is not much you can do, the parents will follow their instinct and raise the fry.

It will be 2-3 days before they hatch and another 3 days before they are free swimming. They will eat crushed up flake but do better on live baby brine shrimp.
