I haven't seen a good quality Firemouth in person in years so I figured this might be my last chance for a while. At only 1.5 inches, I'm wondering how much color they are showing already.

I purchased three of these young T. meeki a week or so ago. So far they haven't shown much in the way of color, but given their size (closer to 1-1.25") it's not surprising. Here are a couple of pics. Not the best photos, but the fish are small and dart around a lot. Given the patterns on the unpaired fins, and the hint of spangles on their sides, I have high hopes they will turn out very nice.

Thanks for letting me know what to expect. Those already look better than 99% of the ones I've seen the last 10 years or so at that size.

Oh, I also wanted to add with Rapps, if they are big enough to sex he will send you what you want - male or female. Also on his stock list it has the sizes of each, but if you talk with him a bit he will try to find one(s) that are a little bigger or smaller depending on your current stock.

For example I placed an order for Geo. Red Heads and a Rio Maica Severum. He has 1.5" geo red heads listed on his site but I'm getting 6 that are in the 2-2.5" range along with a male rio maica severum in the 3" range so their sizes are closer together.

This is why I keep going back to Jeff, yeah over night shipping sucks but awesome quality and service - can't beat it!
