Jelyfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Like those oval circles that don't have corners like rectangular ones.
It's like the type that some people keep arowanas in, so they don't bump into the corners.

Should I find pictures?

Are there any small ones I can keep in those BiorbS?
Or these tanks?

I'm not sure on those. I'd look for something with a surface skimmer on it. Jellies can produce a lot of waste / leave a lot of the food source that will collect at the top and need to be filtered out.

hey Max, thanks for the site..I't sjust the price of a simple tank is waaaaaaay off. $12,000. you can lease a car!

do you think I can get an optional surface skimmer?

and oes anybody keep jellys here?

Do you still have them?
What kind and what kind of tank?

Moon jellies are the easiest to keep. I'll post up some tank info when I have time. Pretty much just an acrylic box with a flexible plastic trim sheet on the inside to round out the sides, surface skimmer leading to an overflow to the sump. Pt skimmer pulling from and returning to the sump. Pump returning from the sump to the tank - valves to control intake flow. Surface skimmer grate has a fine mesh over it.

Thanks...so I'm guessing it's possible to make a jellyfish tank out of a rectangular tank..If I buy some trim sheets.

oh i need pictures for all your high-tech surface skimmer, sump, overflow, etc.
I have no idea what you're talking about.lol

No but, it should be a fairly simple build for you and there are some designs on the tanks there. Also sources of jellies.

Check out Chad Widmer's book "how to keep jellyfish in an aquarium"
I own a company called Jellyfish Art that breeds jellyfish and makes specialized aquariums for them. I'd be happy to help you build your own setup, it's not that hard. I can supply you with polyps so you can grow your own jellies from scratch too
