Jewel cichlid

I'd highly recommend not adding anything to the tank until you actually get your larger tank. the jewel has already established his or herself in the 10 gallon and there's simply not room for 2 territories in there. the jewel will most likely harrass or kill anything that's added to the tank.

once you get your larger tank, then you'll have a lot of options. for now though you are very limited with only a 10 gallon. :)

At that I understand not being able to buy a tank at the moment but unless you can get one soon I would just suggest returning him or finding a bigger home to keep him at untill you can if he start to our grow that 10gal it can stunt growth and also if you add more in their they are going to run out of room and become more over crowded. I def. wouldnt get more fish untill after you are able to get a bigger tank. I really wouldnt add anymore fish into a 10gal for now. But to get rid of agression def. add in other fish once you got yourself a bigger tank. They are pretty mean suckers so really any mean fish with mean fish should even out well.

I think i found something that will go with the jewel. According to what i've read, which i've gotten off the internet i can put a peacock in with the jewel. What do you guys think???

Need a bigger tank. Much bigger.

I have to agree with the need of a bigger tank. If you put another fish in with similar agression its going to be trouble, and vice versa.
The fish will defend its territory, which it doesnt have much of.

Would they'll be all right when i get a bigger tank. Does it matter that the jewel is no bigger then 2" and neither will the peacock???

when you get a bigger tank you have a lot more chance of fish cooperating. I keep several fish together that arent known to be very compatible.

They may be small in size but they can have serious attitudes and 10gal doesnt give them much room to chase/swim/establish territory.

So, how about a 55 gal.???
