225 Gallon Acrylic (72" x 24" x 30")

I finally got the show tank for my dining room I "really" wanted so this will be my build thread. I paid for it today and pick it up tomorrow at 1PM. (I know the seller, he is taking it down tonight) This tank is flawless. I start setup tomorrow.

The tank is currently set up as SW but will be FW by tomorrow night. The pic below is at it sits right now at sellers house, NOT how it will be.
Check the rockwork in this tank, especially the rock towers. Selling these. :D

The sump and temp display. The returns have decent check valve on it for power outages.
I need more scrubbies that I have right now so I can replace this media........ :grinno:

I don't think I will be using this but there is an Ocean Clear filter hooked to an external pump.
I plan on doing an FX5 & UV sterilizer eventually where this is right now.
The speaker is a water alarm system in case any water leaks.

I am planning to cap off the plumbing in the bottom/middle of the tank. Any thoughts on this? Ever have a tank designed for a closed loop? Do you use it in FW or cap it off?

I can't believe your not sticking to the saltwater tank. awwwwww...

Where ya at? I got allot of coral sand/rocks and SW fish/eels for ya! Gunna have some nice LFS store credit soon!

I already have some of the fish I wanted for an awesome Amazon setup so I will be sticking to the original plans.

Seriously how much credit do you think I will get? I get with the tank: 1 foxface, 1 trigger, 1 green wrasse, 2 snowflake eels and a lawnmower blenny

I am asking my LFS to try and get some adult Red Head Tapajo Geophagus in trade for the SW fish. Will sell the sand and rocks seperatly.

That media in there is bio bale. It is pretty much the same as scrubbies. I would use it.

get rid of the ocean filter and get like a Eheim 2262! The sump with the Eheim will handle any load ;)

I would keep it sw, that trigger is beauty trading for some redhead geos would be a rip, try selling your fish on reefcentral, you will get a much better deal than lfs credit. There arn't many sw keepers here though, that is a rather cheap setup, no need to pamper coral, and the fish are still sweet!

It will look great

OK, cool. Thank you. I have never used this stuff before and it looked pretty "cheap".

I have a 2217 that I can throw at this. I do plan on getting rid of the ocean filter though, I agree. It's going to have to work in the mean time until I recoop some of my cash for this.

It is a simple set up and one of the reasons I like it so much. I want to stick FW though, it's what I know and already have a few favorite fish going into this setup. To each his own kind of thing. This will be my only tank in the new house, per my lease agreement. Thanks for the tip on Reefcentral!
