You could go to Alaska and catch Crabs. You get paid a rediculous amount of money, and you only work about half the year. And the best part is. You don't even need a college edjucation!

The only real down side is that you might die.
 
thats kinda funny you mentioned that my grandma was telling me I should do that the other day, but then I thought.... I dont want to die and thats really really cold! Yah it's true you get a crap load of money it is rediculous and you only go out like once a year.

Any reason that your grandmother would want you to go out and risk your life for some crab meat? Other then its tasty and you could bring some back for her. :)
 
Their all right man. Making money and the fish world don't mix. When I was working in Dallas, it was 75 plus hours a week, and that BARELY made teh rent and car payments. (Granted I like to spend more on my car than most, but still :D )

Even now at this zoo I'm making enough to pay bills. All my 'fun' money comes from outside work.

Gov't jobs (like the DNR or Fish and Game) are ok if you can get in. The trouble is there are so many that think it's the best job in the world that people don't get paid much at all.

Jobs at major parks are pure luck getting in, but once you are in the zoo world you're in for life (unless you are a major screw up and don't know a tail from a gill). It's very competetive. I was one of 98 people interviewed for the job I just got at this zoo. It was only because of my background that I got in. I was without a job for almost a year. Alot fo the jobs we as keepers like to do are often dished off to a volunteer who is willing to do it for free just to do it. Check sites like www.AZA.org for the job listings in the zoo world.

Alot of it depends on what you are willing to do/put up with to be a professional in the fish world. If you want a hand, feel free to PM me about it and I'll see what I can do for you.

You can get crabs in college... Well maybe if its a party school like CU. Sorry, couldn't pass that one up.

But i think that I would prefer the alaskin kind, with butter. I say go for it. You would be the coolest kid in school!
