Jaws FTW!!!!
Its possible that she died before she could digest it, thus giving the impression she ate too much. Was there any left over food in the tank? Thats really odd though, I still have yet to see any of my pikes gorge themselves to death. I HAVE lost some to bloat though.
I would very much doubt that she died from some other reason. Its hard to tell from the pics, and it showed better when she was in the water, but her belly was very distended. And the last time I saw her (the night before) she'd crammed so much shrimp in her mouth, it was sticking out and she couldn't close her lips. She seemed to be fine, and my venezuelan used to do the same thing pretty regularly, so I didn't think much of it.
I'm pretty certain it wasn't bullying, as there's really no obvious signs of injury other than the distended, semi-ruptured belly. And she's been in this tank for a few weeks, and they are all living peacefully together.
All of the ven's that I've kept used to gorge themselves, especially on cut shrimp. But they never had any problems with swallowing or digesting it. I guess this little girl thought she could do the same, but I guess she went a little overboard...
As far as left over food, there wasn't any left when I went to bed the other night, but there were a few chunks when I found her dead, so I think she maybe coughed a few pieces out after dark, or maybe in distress...
Thanks for the condolences, she was my favorite pike that I have left...
