im a pretty good breeder.... Humble brag..... the pvc serves as two purposes one it keeps agression down. When I catch the female mostly mouth brooders to put in a seperate tank its easier to catch them because the pvc just rolls around lol. It reallly depends on the type of fish your breeding. The pvc is good to keep agression down until they reach breeding size then when they get older you put slate into the tank so they can lay eggs on and mouth brood you can also put pvc but I like to isolate the fish to one area.Again it depends on the type of cichlid you want to breed.
Yeah about a year ago. Usually I Make a large cave that has a piece of slate for the bottom the male will usually take this spot and allow a female in his cave.
