The rocks look nice but datnoids prefer softer water. Large smooth pieces of driftwood work well. Plus keep an eye on your aro with those rocks. You dont want him scraping his eye or face on them. As for your filter problem, I would recommend using a 3/4" pvc and making spray bars and intake bars for better overall circulation. You can also use Lee brand heater suction cup holders. These fit perfect on the 3/4" pvc. I did that for my 120g dat tank and it makes a big difference. The filter seems twice as strong.

Thanks for sharing! Those NTTs thank you for the addition of hiding places.

Sinister j,

I saw that pic in another thread and noticed the canister. I've been thinking about home depot for a couple days now cuz of it, haha. Does seem like the waterflow is a bit odd with stock intake and output. I may try out the PVC bars like you've got. You just drilled holes into the pipe? How far apart? And in that pic, is that the output over the intake pvc? Would it be better to have intake at one end and output at the other?

the output pipe is closest to the end of the tank. Right next to it is the input. The fx5 rubber hose is hung on the tank mounts provided and mates up to the pvc perfectly. Both pipes are on th same side to provide a perfect circle of current. The output has holes drilled in it about 1/2" apart. the output will shoot across the tank and be forced down the wall of the oposite side of the tank, running across the bottom straight into the intake. I used a chop saw to make the intake. I just used the same Idea of circulation as my dad does for his ponds. Even he was surprised how well this worked.

Looking good.

I would keep a close eye on the jardini though. Those datnoids look like easy targets.
