after around 1.5 mths separated by partition in the 6'x2.5'x28" i finally removed the partitions on saturday night.

Day #1 (2009/08/22):
the 2 bigger ones are sizing each other up.

the smaller one is sizing itself up with the pacu.

some lousy pics:

so far the most aggressive one is still the "girl" as expected.

Day #2 (2009/08/23):
the FRTs are doing well with some minor aggression between the 2 bigger ones and the innocent pacu got targeted by the smaller boy.

hierarchy is:
  1. "girl"
  2. big boy
  3. "little" boy
  4. pacu
Day #3 (2009/08/24):
everything is still under control with little aggression noticed. sometimes the 3 of them can swim close to one another without any problem.

Day #4 (2009/08/25):
as of this morning, still no injuries found on any of the FRTs.

Awsome! Is it generally hard to keep multiple FRTs together?

it is almost impossible. i'm taking a very big risk here now.

they are highly aggressive among themselves. even when partitioned, sometimes, the 2 bigger ones will try to attack one another.

somehow after i removed the partition there is no major aggression seen so far.

the amount of space in the tank is very important. and my tank wont be able to hold them for long too.

Nice FRT com keep up the good job!

thanks everyone. still keeping my fingers crossed.

i will consider it "successful" only if there is no serious aggression after 1 month.

but then again, anything still can happen after that.

just fed them. all eating greedily as usual.

so far all the FRTs are fine.

just saw a minor wound on the bottom of the small FRT's neck. already cleaned the wound and applied some anti bacterial medication on it.

Those are really cool turtles! I've always loved turtles and would like to one day keep them. As of right now though I know nothing about them. These pics inspire me....I will have to start some research.
