Maybe he's started a trend! I think Obama deserves one too!:D

i dunno if this is totally correct or not, but I heard Iraqis culturally consider the motion as a strong sign of contempt- and extreme disrespect. so not so noble under the general eye, but through their culture- you can only imagine what those guys think of bush. i thought it was hilarious and saddened that he didnt get his point across- cant throw for sh,f

I can see it coming...... everyone is required by security to leave their shoes outside!

While your statement is tongue-and-cheek, I did find it a little weird that he was able to just stand up and tee off on the President like that.

its sad that an american has not done that yet ... what happened to us being proud and willing to stand up. good for that reporter.........

It's sad that an American (I'm assuming) would see an act like this and actually be fond of it. I can't imagine anyone thinking that this is an acceptable practice, no matter what the terms, especially someone from the country of the leader who is being treated this way.

Dang Mr. W had some good reflexes for an old man. I predict this thread will be closed by this evening....

Thats the first thing I noticed! I thought he was gonna say "What! you got any more shoes you wanna throw!"

its an extreme insult to show the bottom of your shoe-its to say that that other person is beneath you-lower than a dog. (dogs are considered unclean to Muslims). The man screamed something like "This is goodbye to you, devil!" or something along that line.

im surpised Bush was quick enough to see that coming and dodged it. his security guys tackled the guy.

im going to stop now, since we do not talk politics here on mfk, and i respect that.
