I just confirmed it's 17". what I did was place a 17" stick into the tank and wait for the fish to size up to the stick. I also took a pic. with my camera phone. I am working on a way to get it sent to my email or transferred to my pc and load it up for you guys.

Alright here are the pictures from my crappy phone. Sorry for the poor quality, I can't find my digicam... my toddler son probably hid is somewhere LOL.
This picture shows the fish turning against the 17" pre-cut white stick that I placed in the tank for reference. Once the fish is perfectly lined up with the stick, they are at the same length.
