jumping bichirs?

I'm pretty bummed out. I found my 2 endilis on the floor tonight. They have only been in the tank for a few days. What did i do wrong? Tank is 175g 0 ammonia 0 nitrite not sure of nitrate but I do weekly 25% water changes, Ph is 8.3 and LFS said my alkaline was high(he asked if i had Africans)

lol... like everyone else said its not the parameters... my PH is 8.2 and my bichirs are just fine...

^yes there are, he said there is a gap where his filter used to be......


Never under-estimate the gap a bichir (or spiny eel as I found out yesterday) will fit through, if it looks too small, it isn't....
