Jumping Oscar makes Yahoo News

2 questions, is it healthy for an Oscar to be provoked by every last person to walk thru the door and can that disgusting fat kid afford to be @ a buffet????
My oscar jumps too. he jumped out of the tank on the 4th of July and died. his pic is my avatar. Still I like how the oscar in the news jumps out at people.
Too bad it wasn't that albino oscar doing the jumping ... the 'white oscars can jump' jokes would practically write themselves.

Yea, he’ll probably jump to far, if he hasn’t already… But that won’t stop him from protecting his eggs/fry (unless no one puts him back in).
I’ve been bitten by my Oscars quite a few times. Unless they ‘swallow’ your finger and pinch it in the grinding plates it’s fine. Lip pinches don’t hurt. I would guess it’s very unlikely he’ll ever get a good bite on a customer… although if he does, your right, there will probably be an unnecessary lawsuit…
The pic in my avatar… is of my 13’ female Oscar only a moment before she left out of the tank and hit me in the stomach/chest… I was hanging about 12~18” over the tank directly above her eggs…
