I have a 20" paima in a 100 gal tank.. the problem is it keeps jumping that one night i saw it lying on the floor barely alive... i replaced the cover with a thicker glass to avoid the same incident from happening but he continues to jump at night banging on the cover... is this a normal behavior? i have a 2000 gal pond but i'm afraid that if i put him there he would also leap out and my dogs might grab him... any of you guys out there having the same experience?

:WHOA:

hes only jumping cause ur tank is to small...small spaces make arowanas skittish, maybe put up a chicken wire fence round the pond and put him in there! until u get a larger tank...

:jaw: :jaw: :jaw: :iagree: I coudn't agree more he shouldn't be in a 100 gallon tank!!!

too small a space for a paima, even an aro would find that space too tight

i agree with the others, when Aro's and Pima's (and the like) fidn that there surrondings are getting too small for them to live comfortably, they tend to jump. i found this with my 12inch silver then i moved him to my bigger tank where immediatly he was fine!

good luck dude:D
