i have never seen one swim like that in any of my friends tank but he also had a huge pump that wasnt from a filter and they liked it a lot.........

actually, it only does that when the tank light is on. without it, it is constantly moving on the bottom looking for food.

Never say never! You're not at your friend's house 24/7, so you may not see everything and anything
