i actually ran over an article somewhere, on tips on how to breed roaches. theyre really good for aros

I'm sure Aros would love some of the "Palmetto Bugs" that my Uncle gets in SC. They look like giant roaches, about 8" long. *shudder*

theres an idea.. breeding roaches to feed an arowana.. honestly i think it's a pretty neat idea EXCEPT for the fact that they WILL find a way out of whatever system you have them in.. only crappy thing about roaches..
i imagine they'de be REAL good eating for arowanas though
not exactly something i wanna have around but definately an interesting idea for food..
all you guys with fairly tropical climates are lucky that way.. as long as there arent any pesticides.. go nuts!.. i guess it woudl be better to not feed a venomous critter to your aro.. but on the other hand.. i imagine they eat the odd one or 2 in the wild without problems?
it would be real neat to see what kind of stuff these fish eat in the wild
i'm hoping that when i start buyin books and things that they will have the answers i'm searching for

lol, for i'd prefer not to have roaches around, and just feed superworms and prawns to my fish :)

roaches are one of aros fav food. i'd be feeding them to my aros if not for my wife's objections. ;)

anything with exoskeletons (not poisonous and pesticide free) are good for aros. those exoskeletons contain chitin, which is good in developing large, strong and colorful scales for fishes who have them
