Jungle no more algae ?

Usually they are formulated for fresh water in my experience. Assume fresh unless they say salt or have salt water creatures on the packaging

Also, (sorry for preaching) the better solution to an algae overgrowth issue is to address the source of the algae. There are many articles online about what tank properties cause which kinds of algae for both salt and fresh water. Fix the source of the problem and the algae will die without adding junk to your water that could have unintended side effects.

I realize but I work in aquarium maintenance and some tanks get alot of sun or people over feed etc. so these have been a god send for certain tanks but Ive only tested it on fresh so far.

In that case, I would contact the manufacture and verify if at can be used for SW before risking the client's fish. And, even if not likely to happen, try to educate the client.

Yes, algicides kill fish too (even if used as directed.) I would imagine that copper may be an ingredient in it, and if so....definitely not safe for most saltwater applications. I've never read the ingredients, but if it says it contains copper, I wouldn't use it.

Back in the day it was common practice to throw a couple pennys in your tank. the copper killed algea. I used it and never lost a fish. Granted i didnt have a loach or anything. copper will kill inverts though.

Most saltwater tanks are full of inverts! Either on purpose, or on accident on live rock. I think some of the most interesting stuff in saltwater are the mushrooms and polyps.

Most of my tanks have at least one scaleless fish, and/or inverts, so I shy away from using copper ever. It's hard to remove from your water too. There's a chart that shows what activated carbon is efficient to remove, and copper fails to be adequately removed using carbon.
