I have an idea, I don't know if it can be done safely so thought I'd better ask first. My plan is to take the exo terra jungle vine and place them in my aquarium, I know they say they are waterproof and animal safe, but if they are underwater for months on end will they eventually break down. just trying to go for a more natural look mixing these with some nice drift wood. Any advice or pictures would be awsome thanks:)

I wouldn't trust it.
Is there anything specific that makes you nervous about this? I've heard of people using them in fire belly toad tanks both in and out of water I'm hoping this can work out.

they tend to disintigrate ime, and the metal wire inside isn't the greatest quality and tends to disintigrate as well. We use them at work for our red-bellied set-up as well and personally I think they're more or less junk. I'de have concern about the metals leeching, and fish getting hurt, fish such as plecos I wouldn't trust not to accidentilly ingest it. I'de rather go with something natural that I may need to replace. But tbh I've never really bothered with vines.. But I would start my search looking into vivarium supply places. The ones that cater to poison frogs would imo be your best bet. There was a person in the DIY threads I believe who did a vivarium ty[pe set-up and made his own vines.. you might be able to find the thread as well.

Anybody ever try the Exo Terra waterproof vines for there fish tank? I have 6 of the big ones and want to use it for my amazon river set up?
Any ideas and did anybody have luck the petcos moss vines they are selling.

those are the bendable vines right?? i have no idea...it would be a cool idea though
