Well I picked this guy up, about 13-14 inches, from a fellow member on here (thanks again Senior_P_F). The three smaller, 2-3 in, Jurs I had all died not sure why. He has started eating market shrimp again and his trailer has gone from about 1-2 inches to a good 11-12 inches. He is currently temporarily housed in a 75gal that is divided and on his side he has a little buddy Gulper cat who is less than half his size. Filtration is an Emp400, AC110, and a AC 802 powerhead with a sponge (that I attached and only rinse out with tank water), so around 1350gph and approx 18x turn over, my guess its more likely around 1000gph at 13x turn over. I do large water chages once a week 50-70% and tank has been running for about 2.5 years.

So my questions:
1. Does the long trailer mean he is adjusted to the water conditions, along with eating normally?
2. I have different options with moving him to another tank, I would like to move him to my bare 180 across the room, tank has Bichirs (Ornates, Laps, Endlis - the Laps (8-9in are the smallest and thinnest so dunno is they would be at risk at being eaten), Gars (2x Florida/Spotted, larger is 14in smaller is 8-9in), also temporarily house a Cocholate Cichlid and Lei Aro 8-9 in. So am I risking the other fish if I move the Jur cat with them?
3. How willing are they at trying to eat other tank mates that are smaller than them?
4. Also do they like alot of water movement as in current? I thought I read somwhere they did and wanted to confirm this.

Enjoy the pics and tanks in advance for your comments and replys. :D

be careful-he could eat the gulper if its only half his size.I hope you will get a bigger tank for them also or move them to the 180.If its a didvided 75 gallon-thats only really37.5 gallons approx.the other fish should be okay housed with him for now but theres always a chance in the future that he can eat them and possibly will.Hes a beautiful cat though!

I doubt he could eat the gulper, his mouth is barely half the size of the gulpers head. The gulper actually has a bigger mouth, but I'll keep an eye on them.

The 75 is only his temporary home until I figure out what tank to put him in and wanted to make sure he was eating normal before I put him in a larger tank. He actually has two thirds of the tank and I have the power head pointed towards the cats.

I prefer to put him in my 180, easier to keep an eye on him but the fish might be a snack, I also have a 240 and 300 he could go in. He will go in a larger tank in the next few weeks.

Thank you.

Nice. The previous owner said the trailer in his tank would sometimes reach the top of his tank when the cat was at the bottom, I think his tank was 24in tall.
