Where Palm Trees Grow
I got my Jurense in the mail yesterday and put him in the tank and within 5 minutes I see my 4" Red Texas Cichlid tearing him up. So I separate them and I see that the Juruense has a chipped gill plate, his side fins are torn up, and his back fin where his beautiful streamers were is completely torn off. I've had problems like this with cichlids before and I'm finished with all of them accept Geophagus for a very long time. I'm very angry at myself for taking another risk with stupid cichlids and I'm not sure what to do to grow his fins back or even if they will grow back. I really need some help. Here are some pics...

I would do nothing but water changes. He is not showing signs that it's effected him. He's eating then he should be good ;)

Everything is good accept for the last part. He has no interest in food. I've tried sinking pellets and cut up shrimp and he acts like it's invisible. I did just get him yesterday though.

i would give him a little while before expecting him to be very interested in food, he is probably quite stressed at the moment as long as he's swimming normal for now :)

agree.....do not add meds and specially do not add salt ....as long as the water is clean and no one is picking on him he will recover
