i'm look for my next cat. i want to add to the collection with a nice juruense. where can i get them and what do they normally run ya?

n-e-cichlids on the seller forum said he has them in for $50 right now if I remember right. He also has a gulper cat for $250. Great prices.

Woooh! I'm glad I saw this thread. I saw a nice Juruense at about $90 in Pennsylvania and thought it was a heck of a good deal, (keep in mind that I was confusing it with the Tigrinus) But I had no bucks in my pocket at the time, and had to pass. Just makes me wish I had a catfish encyclopedia in my pocket when I go to petstores...

lol...yeah i hear ya, i like the tig but don't wanna fork out the cash for it, so i figured the juruense would be a nice knockoff...lol

Some ppl are going to hate me for this but I think tigs are a tad over rated... I mean I love their streamers and high contrast colors... but I just hate the shape of their heads! I think jurs have a much nicer shaped head... and if you can find those orange ones they are bad @$$ :naughty:

I think tigs look awesome even with the flat head and eyes on top, but I love all catfish, lol. I still want to set up a tank for both. I've seen people keep them together before, but not sure how well they interact with each other. Size seems good, both about the same size as adults. Would definitely like to set up a nice 300 gal, and keep one of each for comparison. Maybe a few other similar sized catfish to go in with them.
