As for camera hogging, my guy pretty much just does his thing as if I weren't there. The tricky part is getting a shot that isn't full of my bonehead angelfish. You can see pieces of that angelfish in pretty much every shot I have of the jurupari!
 
Nice! Don't look like much when young.
You've got to be careful. They get mislabeled most of the time. If they don't have sparkles by 2" they are probably not the right kind. I bought the wrong kind once and waited until it was almost five inches before giving up and returning it. It just stayed plain ugly gray with a few darker bars on its face.

what you're describing is actually a S. jurupari, like justin said, you've got S. luecosticta
