Hate to say it but I lost my monster Dovii yesterday. He was dead when I got home from work. He lived alone in a 210 gallon aquarium for about three years. Before that he lived with his wife until he got tired of her and killed her. He would not allow any other fish to live with him. He was a wild caught dovii and I got him when he was a little over an inch long. I had him for a little over five years.

I weighed him today at 3 lbs 13 ounces and he measured 17.75" long.

RIP buddy.

Nope, not really sure what happened. He was looking fine and soaking us every time we fed him.
 
Yeah, I have many decades in the hobby, and sometimes you just get one drops dead. Frustrating, but all part of the deal. I just last week got a little 3in male, hard to imagine him at 20+ins. Will happen though!
 
I am actually thinking about trying an Umbee this time. I have never had one but they seem to be amazing fish.
