just a few pics , trying to get better opinions on cam req'd

I have to agree with what's been said before. Get a speedflash first and use your lighting over the tank. I have to say that you're modest about your photography skills. Considering that you're using onboard flash, your pics are way better than most. The butti pics are the best by far imo. You diffused the light just right in those.

If you get a new camera, I highly recommend the Nikon D series for sure. Wouldn't trade mine for the world.

if you go D40 you might as well go D70s ;) But if you are going that route why not just go for it and get into a D80 ;)

How much do you use yoru cameras??

hi guys , many thanks for the compliments , to be honest i didn't know about diffusing the flash until i started reading some threads today at apf , i just found that angeling my cam to the front glass give me a better shot , i have got to do lots and lots of reading ,

Tongue33 - the problem is cheapest i can find d70 for is £695 the d80 is even more and the d40 is only £265 minus £35 rebate (thats less than i would pay for a point and shoot) which means i will have extra cash for speed light and other stuff go go with it for the same money , dont get me wrong i would love to go for the higher cam but for what i use it for i just cannot justify it (i only snap pics of my fish to post here or show mates what ive picked up ,and use on hols ect. allough i want to start to learn and use one more often)

anyway ordered a d40 today should be here tomorrow ,but i should imagine it will take a good while to see any decent results ,ive never even held a slr before

cheers for all the input guys
