Just a little blurb for Koi lovers

worse than that... the Aussies were considering (are still) releasing KHV into the waters to erradicate the wild carp populations. What a f-in' nightmare! Dead decaying koi will be everywhere and what an opportunity for KHV to morphto attack other species.

as for Maine, an Asian restaurant owner had his aquarium koi removed from the restaurant... about $25,000 later , they were returned to him.

The lesson here , of course is NEVER release fish (or any other non-native species)into the streams, lakes, or retention ponds around you. Florida now has active populations of pythons, macaws, parakeets, parrots, iguanas (they rain out of the trees when it freezes) and our buddy, the oscar is currently on the Florida Fish and Game Poster as a native species. The hurricanes blew craploads of lion fish to the atlantic coastline as well... not fun for the divers.

u can keep koi in n.s.w as long as they dont get into waterways....wild carp are great fun to catch in the river but its illegal to release them back to the water...
