Wow, I agree, that is one wicked nice filter but very steep for 60 gallon rating. Is it for fresh or salt water, or both?

It really is meant for a planted freshwater tank. But it could be used on SW or FW. Personally when I setup SW I use protein skimmer and LR to do the job.

Nice filter....for Bill Gates

Yeah, but you've never seen 6"to 8" fish in planted tanks? Thus, LARGER fish!:D

This filter is designed for PLANTED TANKS!!!!!!!

Large fish or not, this filter is designed for a planted tank. IF you don't understand how a planted tank works, please take a few minutes to research it. Plants will remove nitrogen from the water. Filters for planted tanks are easy to access for maintenance and have powerful pumps to pull the junk in and trap it. Leaves and stems are 1000 times harder on a pump then anything even a full grown arowana could put out.

Yes I know how a planted tank works. My first planted tank was in the early 1970's with neons and guppies. Back then, we only had box filters, worked decent enough with hardy plants. Geezz!:chillpill:
