I'm kind of interested in natives and was just wondering, what could really be housed in a 125 gallon?

The reason why I became interested is because I really wanted P-bass for the 125 but after I heard that a 125 is just not enough I was devastated.

So, could a Small mouth be kept in a 125 for life? Or any other native fish? Thanks in advance:)

yeah u could put a smb in a 125

Would it be easyer to catch in myself then buy? I was thinking barbless hook? It's still to cold to go fishing right now. This summer I'd probably be able to catch me one!

I'm posting all over the place. I might be getting crenicichlas, or natives. I have no Idea what to do with my 125.

This summer when I move from my current house and into the next I might be building and indoor pound from a 300 gallon rubbermaid. Thinking about putting a viewing window on the front so I get a half pond/half tank! :)

But I still have no Idea on what to do with my 125!

some bullheads would work

I'm leaning more towards small mouth then bullhead.

I dont know though. I'm either doing crenicichlas or natives.

a smb would be good for a 125, if only one. They sill get over 18inchs so you might need to move it out of a 125 into something bigger. Have a lot of o2 and keep it on the cool end and you should have on problems. A smb was the first fish i had, many moons ago. They have great personallity without the aggression of a lgmb. Good luck with what ever you choose.

The SMB sounds pretty cool at this point.

I might be buying a Cobra pike pair and a senegal bichir for my 125.

I still havent bought it yet and when I do its going to have to be ordered by my LFS because they dont keep tanks bigger then 90 in the store but will order them.

I dont know how wide its going to be, only how long. The LFS owner said it would be 6ft..

Im going to wait until I get it to make my final option. Im just browsing my possibilities right now.

Thanks for the help!

personally i would go with some sunfish and a 1-2 bottom fish like bullhead
:iagree: i agree with the sunfish suggestion plus you could get different species, bluegill, pumpkinseeds, shellcrackers, brim, etc.
