Just a red devil?

just wondering if this is just a red devil, its mouth seems different than the others ive kept.

where did you get it from?

just from a shop.it was in with assorted cichlids. i mean the mouth is different because its top jaw comes out more than the bottom. i just thought it was a red devil as well but im not too sure anymore. the ppl at the shop didnt kno wat it was

Looks a little like a Barred midas.

I guess barred midas as well if it where rd it would be changing color at that size or fully colored mine start pealing between 1.5-2" that 1 looks to be 3" or better.

i think it's way too early to tell what it is - could be a red devil, midas, hybrid *touch wood* etc. etc.
the mouth seems to be turning upwards?

nah the photo is bad quality. the top jaw comes down over the bottom slightly like a parrots beak. but only slightly which is y i dont think its a red devil

ive just noticed that also its gills dont seem to be round underneath but sort of square it looks like when an african mouthbrooder has eggs.
