Given that this section has more posts than all the other cichlid sub-forums combined, it seems [to me at least] that splitting the Central and South American cichlids into two separate forums would be a good idea. Generally speaking, they are two pretty different groups of fish.

Thoughts??

good idea.

mine as well split them and add the angelfish/discus forum to the SA section since that hardly gets any "action" and their really not that different of fish from the rest of the SA's

doesnt sound bad. im into ca cichlids so i dont check out the sa cichlid threads but i also dont mind sifting through them. horse a piece

That's a decent idea, but then I'd have to think of which forum I'm supposed to be posting in.

Yeah it could make things a bit tricky, for example posts about festae or green terrors would probably be more suited to a CA cichlid forum, although the fish are technically SA...

Combining the discus/angel forum with the SA cichlids would be good, given that many people keep them together.

^ Agreed, this is my home section and the first thing I check when I get on. Plus people will post SA in the CA and vice versa, which will get tiresome for the mods moving threads.

Actually I kind of like them together. It makes for a good read when i fall behind after not posting for a couple days and seperating them has been done on a couple other forums and seems to slow down the traffic in my opinion. I say leave it the way it is. As a matter of fact I don't think there should be a sub forum for the Pikes either. Its way to slow over there.
