Just a thought; split the CA/SA Cichlid forum?

I was about to say this, but you beat me to it.

Central america is kind of a region, not a continent.

well, I would like at it more like this: i.e., all of Central America is part of the North American continent, but only part of Mexico (Yucatan area) would be considered part of the Central America sub-region . . .

and I like how the other post brought in all the caribbean islands, etc., that also have cichlids . . . so true

Yeah I probably should have made a poll, but it looks like most people want it left as-is. For me its a bit of a PITA, I really like central american cichlids but don't keep any and can only see so many threads about umbee/dovii/trimac before the jealousy gets to me (can't get them in NZ). My real interest is with south american cichlids, earth eaters, Heros, uaru, apistos and other dwarves, angels, pretty much everything, and I'd rather not look through pages of threads about CA cichlids when I've got limited time and only want to view the stuff that is really relevant to my interests.


And as for people not knowing where their fish come from, they deserve a slap in the face for not knowing (or being too lazy) how to use google/wiki!! The only excusable case would be where the identity (and therefore location) is unknown.

I am happy with it the way it is. A lot of people keep SA's with CA'a so it keeps things simple.

well i think that's what some of us think and that's why we are entertaining the notion of combining some of the SA subforums into SA. There would be a net reduction of subforums.

If the pikes and angel/discus forum were merged to create a new SA forum then you'd have one less, and less "clutter".
