Just an observation about micros

I always feed my fish slowly one or two chunks at a time as that is one of the most entertaining parts of keeping the fish.

Do you breed your guppys or buy them as and when required. I have a stubburn Black Wolf and I am considering setting up a molly or Guppy type setup to produce some food.

i bought about 200 guppies from wildwoods and just threw them all into a separate tank, the guppies from wildwoods are the only ones that i would consider parasite free and healthy so i have them breeding now. in the meantime i have rosy reds and zebra danios that i give to them whilst all of my fry are still growing. i load up the guppy fry with quality flake - like tetra colour, pro veg, JMC micro pellets and on the day im going to feed them to my SH i load them up with frozen bloodworms :D i've stopped trying to tease my micros by slowly dropping in small quantities of food because last time i did that i nearly risked one jumping out of the tank onto the floor! they seem to go into this *attack mode* when they see food and it takes mine a while to calm down after. like they start swimming incredibly fast and take really sharp turns! its really fun to watch but i get worried incase they knock themselves out haha :D

I have had no success feeding mine with pellets. It wouldn't learn from my crazy kois. They are separated by plastic fence though. I only had success feeding my giant some boiled meat(chicken, beef, pork, fish). mine is now at 17" or so. I can't keep up with measuring because he keeps growing fast!

My turtle did learn to eat pellets by watching my goldfish feast on pellets.

I know. They grow like there's no tomorrow and you can actually see their growth in just a week without a ruler!

Hmmm when I had my old koi pond I threw some straitas in there, and they converted to pellets pretty fine. That didnt stop them from nipping on the koi's fins though.
