when i was 7 my parents would set up tanks for me with goldfish but once we wanted something different so we went out and got a "Shark"
that the lfs employee said will only grow to tank size
in a 5 gallon tank, that poor Pangasius Catfish was in a tank 60x smaller that minimum tank size!! he jumped and hit the lid and died after a month
such a waste of a beautiful fish
ill bet one out of every 1000 sold lived past a year and a half

I know right...
today I was there again to get a new thermometer...there was a guy asking why his GT had darkened and stopped eating...the shop guy kept insisting it was because the weather was too cold...

I mentioned to the guy with the sick fish that it could be because of an internal parasite or a pH problem and he just told me he didn't know what pH was and turned back to talk to the shop guy.

I guess if you're 14 no one takes you seriously.

But then, I saw that a tank with golden panchax was hit by ich...quite obviously so. A guy had just bought two killies from that tank. I told the shopkeeper that there was ich in there, and he said "Oh, yeah!" in a non surprised tone and then added some 40 drops blue ich treatment to the 20 gallon tank. The thermostat read 26 degrees so I suggested to him to add some salt and up the temp...and he just reached his hand in and cranked the heater from 26 to 32 degrees!!!! I hope his fish don't die...
