Hey all! Im a relatively experienced fish keeper and im currently in the process of re-stocking my two tanks. 1 is a 55 gal and one is a 95. The tank in question is my 95. Im pretty set on doing an Angel/community tank. i want a lot of diversity and fish. My plan is to have 3 angels, 3-4 large groups of tetras, a gourami, some cory cats and a redtail shark. I was figuring on ending with about 60-70 fish in total. so my ?s are......A: Is that gonna work ok? B: What suggestions do you guys have for my large groups of schooling fish? (im open to anything that'll work well with angels) C: can i have the gourami and the shark? D: And lastly i figured as far as aquascaping i was going to go with a grouping of driftwood in the middle of the tank and to densely plant it with fake plants (i prefer fake) is that ok? and on a side note the local water here is quite hard, i know angels like softer water, would the driftwood be enough to soften the water? or would i need to use a buffer of some sort? Thanks for the info i know ull give me ahead of time!

What are your dimensions? I think your stocking idea is fine, just have some good filtration on it. As far as the driftwood, how hard is the water? If its really high it might not make enough of a dent.

the tank is 4 ft wide x 25" tall x 20-21" at widest point but its a total wave front, also called a surf front. Its basically half convex curved and half concaved. What schooling fish would u suggest?

and as far as filtration itll be a fluval 405 and an emperor 400 i believe??? the 80 gal rated H.O.B w/ two bio wheels

As far as hardness i dono exact numbers or anything but when i test with those test strips that look like they're for a pool it tests almost to the extreme....

Test strips are not accurate by all means. I suggest you get API liquid test kits for KH and GH. It doesn't hurt to shell out $20-40 for a complete set. They can last for a long time.

Most likely will now, but before hand i could test with strips free and never had problems so, yea......hehe! But i want suggestions for fish guys!!!!!! Im the worst decision maker!!!!! HELP!

i wouldent trust the angels with the tetras they usually think of them as food
Not all angelfish and tetras are like that. If it were the Pterophyllum altum, then definitely it can eat a wide range of species of tetras with the exception of large deep-bodied species however with the scalares, the only specimens best avoided are small torpedo shaped ones such as neons, cardinals, glowlights, embers and loretos. Black neons, kerris, emperors and deep bodied specimens can work perfectly with full grown scalares.

Im not set on tetras btw, i just said them as they are the most common kept community schooling fish. How about a large group of tiger barbs? Ive read that their aggression, if ud call it that, is minimal if not gone if they are kept in larger numbers? Im open to all suggestions i was thinking red eye tetras, pristilla tetras and rummynose tetras but im always changing my mind anyway! And what about a pictus cat or two instead of the cory cats?
