I disliked when I first came here and they told me to look at the stickies, but there is so much info there that covers most questions you'll come up with for them. It did for me anyways.

If you want to go with ONE fish, but with lots of personality, you could get an Oscar in a 75 or 100, but it will require lots of filtration and water changes.

Another cool fish is a Bichirs or Senegal dragon, which could live it's life in a 75 or 100 gallon - depending on which type you get. Somebody else will have to tell you which ones grow bigger and which remain smaller.
