Just bought a new buddy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Red's are by far the best type of tegu in my opinion - they're gigantic and generally friendly.

Just keep in mind that as that gold ages, he has the potential to really jack you up - ripped tendons, broken bones, stitches, lacerations, ect.

It may be worth it just to keep him as a "no touch" pet if you can't get him to tame down at an acceptable size.

Welcome to the Dark side of MFK where we don't just keep monster fish but all sorts of monsters.

Oh i've had all kinds if pythons like burms and retics so i've experienced monsters........I just think monitor's are on a whole nother level........

Try octopus :D

They're so intelligent that they've been banned from scientific research - they think it harms the animal.

Mimic octopus are a trip - my buddy had one in a large salt water tank. Clown fish would pick on it so it would straighten out to look like a sea snake, then it would go down to the bottom and flatten out to look like a flounder!

If you put lego's in the tank with them they will start putting them together...just flat out weird.

Yeah I have every intention too........Even if he is evil.......that's what they make gloves and long sleeve shirts for!

I have to admit just from observing this little guy it's making me definetly wanna start getting into more tegus and monitors........

ive owned tegus and monitors and my monitors are by far the most fun to watch and observe. they are so inquisitive about everything. they watch everything you do.

Yeah I have to say they tegu does a lot of watching too though........It seems like everywhere I go in the room, his eye is on me.

they deff do alot of watching, theres no doubt about that. give him a little while and he will have your routine down. he will know exacatly what you are going to do.

what do you have him on for substrate? sorry if this was already asked but im curious. give him places to dig and he might calm down more as well.
