The XP3 has tubing that comes up over the back then the return and intake sides have suction cups and hard tubing that goes into the tank. It shouldn't be a problem with the bracing. I run 2 XP3's on my 240 and it keeps the water crystal clear. As its been said, the XP3 is more then capable of polishing the water, it comes with 2 20mm pads 2 30mm pads, and the biochem zorb. I run in addition to those a pack of Rena ceramic rings and a pack of Rena FilStars, a white polyfiber, and an ammonia pad in each one as well. ~Trent
Spraybar FTW! I use it for extra aeration with the bars mounted about a half inch above the water level and because I have a "wider" current in the tank, I also run a powerhead perpendicular to the spray bar current to move flow across the tank.
